Flagship INHOUSE project

Meekison MacKinnon & McGhee

Embedded Digital Lead support

From the early stages of the business through to major client projects, digital campaigns, professional content and a complete podcast series, Ryan worked alongside founder Alix Meekison as an embedded Digital Lead.

The engagement grew with the company, moving between digital delivery, client facing projects, marketing, creative production and internal improvement depending on what the business needed.

The model in practice

More Than a Supplier.

The previous relationship with MMM is one of the clearest examples of how INHOUSE is designed to work. The requirement was never limited to one discipline. As the business developed, the work changed with it.

At different times the priority might be any of the following. The value came from being close enough to understand the business and flexible enough to move between those requirements.

  • The website
  • A client pitch
  • A recruitment campaign
  • A professional document
  • A microsite
  • An event
  • A podcast
  • Thought leadership
  • A candidate document
  • A digital workflow
  • An internal process

The journey

From Launch to Embedded Digital Support.

Phases, not a fabricated calendar. The work moved as the company moved.

  1. Ryan worked alongside Alix during the early development of MMM. Website, digital presence, company documentation, brand implementation and the first professional materials.

What Ryan actually delivered

What the Work Actually Involved.

Nine areas of a Digital Lead engagement, not a list of packages. Open one.

  • 01 · Website & digital presence

Not a one time website build. The site developed alongside the company.

Ryan built and then kept working on the digital home for MMM, structure, pages, journeys and the content that had to sit on them as the business grew.

    • Website development and ongoing management
    • New page creation and content implementation
    • Digital structure and service presentation
    • Candidate and client journeys
    • Insights / Journal content on the site
    • Campaign and podcast integration
    • Ongoing updates and digital consistency

Barely Legal, Morally Wrong

A Series, Not a One Off Recording.

Through MMM, Ryan worked with Alix Meekison and Mandy Laurie WS of Burness Paull LLP on the development of the podcast, from an Edinburgh discovery session to 11 published episodes.

Concept, identity, Riverside production, episode creative, publishing and promotion were treated as one piece of work.

Digital systems & AI

From Digital Delivery to Process Improvement.

Later in the relationship the work moved beyond marketing and content into how work was completed internally.

AI and digital tools were used to support structure, standardisation and efficiency. People remained responsible for the actual professional work and decision-making.

  • Repetitive workflows reviewed
  • Templates and standardisation
  • AI-assisted document processes
  • More repeatable methods of delivery

The way we worked

Flexible by Design.

The relationship was not built around a rigid monthly package. Requirements changed with projects, client deadlines, campaigns, events and new opportunities. Some periods were intensive. Others were lighter ongoing support.

Work was agreed flexibly, and invoicing could reflect that wider arrangement, including quarterly billing periods where it suited the relationship. That is not a universal INHOUSE promise. It is what a trusted long term engagement made possible here.

  1. Light support
  2. Project intensity
  3. Ongoing support
  4. Major delivery
  5. Improvement work

The workload flexes with the business.

Ryan Aitken · INHOUSE

MMM is probably the clearest example of the type of relationship I enjoy most.

I was able to work closely enough with Alix to understand the business properly, then move between whatever needed attention at the time.

Sometimes that was the website or marketing. Sometimes it was a client deck, a microsite, a podcast episode or a process that needed standardised.

That variety meant the work had to be good, but it also meant I could see the business develop and contribute in a much broader way than I would have through one isolated service.

What Would This Look Like Inside Your Business?

You might not need the same combination of support as MMM. That is the point. INHOUSE can adapt around what the business actually needs, website, campaign, content, client materials, digital systems, a podcast, AI, project support, or something that does not yet have a name.
